Cyriel Dessers insists Rangers 'll remain focus
CYRIEL DESSERS insists Rangers will continue to ‘focus on ourselves’ in the wake of the Light Blues’ fabulous 5-0 defeat of Hearts in the Scottish Premiership Saturday afternoon. The third-placed Jambos – who have been on a fine run of recent form – were well beaten this afternoon by Gers with striker Dessers grabbing a double to move to 16 goals for the season.Ibrox was euphoric at full-time, but the Nigerian internationalist was keen to ensure everyone inside the inner sanctum keeps their feet on the ground.
He told RangersTV: "We are in a really good place and we want to stay there. We have to keep going, just focus on ourselves, do the things we have to do and that is what we are doing the whole week - working hard, doing the same thing every day and we have to keep going.
"I think it was a beautiful afternoon for everyone who loves Rangers. I think we played a really good game against a good team, let's not forget they are third in the league and although the result is 5-0, they didn't play a bad game and I think we were really effective."We did our job and and you can see the atmosphere here at Ibrox, it is an amazing afternoon."Gers were a goal up inside two minutes thanks to Mohamed Diomande’s second in as many games, and Dessers continued: "You feel in the first minutes at Ibrox, the energy is always buzzing but if you can score a goal at that point, it is a big knock for them. Dio made an amazing goal for the second week in a row now so lets hope he can keep this going!"It was hard work today. Most of the teams in the league just play the ball long, but they wanted to try and play a little bit and I had to press like crazy and run a lot so you maybe lack a little bit of freshness when you have the ball but I think I did my job for the team and I am happy to get two goals in a massive win so I am really happy."
